I absolutely love the Westminster Dog Show from Madison Square Garden!This year's winner is an amazing 10 year old called Stump. He succeeds Uno the beagle as America's dog for the coming year. This is the best competition because the competitors are judged only on how well they portray the standards for their individual breeds. Imagine, being judged on standards. what a great idea!
The memories of sitting with kids and cheering for our favorites and giggling at some of the really weird looking varieties are warm and cozy. Thanks for sharing.

I thought it was so funny that the dog was drooling. But as Eric said, they are judged on their traits, and for a spaniel, drooling is one of their traits. I also loved his name, Stump, what was his full name?
I love that all three of us were watching this! But I have to admit that Justin is the one who found it, flipping through channels, and then stayed with it. Even though he is allergic to dogs we wound up online looking for our "perfect" dog, just in case we get one someday. He likes bulldogs, beagles, and corgis. I'm torn between one of those or something tougher than can hike with us...
