Oh, what a night!

Sunday night we had a raging storm, winds were up to 50 mph, and over 2 inches of rain. This is what I discovered this morning.

I guess Dad has a project when he returns from Africa this weekend, although we are supposed to get a snow storm Friday to Saturday, so it may be a little while after that.

Sorry I have been gone so long--holidays, Church, and another sinus infection--but I am back and feeling fine at last. Our snow from before Christmas lasted until this week, but the piles at the parking lots are still there. There are flurries blowing around outside at this moment. It is 34, so I don't expect anything to stick. I truly love seasons!!

I have finished two quilt tops (Ilana's and Aspen's) and have three others in process (Maddie's, Eme's, and Dad's). I have the fabric for Kennan's puzzle and the dinosaur and dragon quilts for five boys (Austin, Aidan, Forester, Davin, and Carter). When we go to Carter's baptism, I will steal a few minutes to have Courtney pick out her colors. My plan is to make all the 10-year olds quilts this year. I know, now that I have put it out there, I am bound to the commitment. I hope I am up to my own challenge. At any rate, it is great fun to plan and sew.

Well, of course it does! Planning is the BEST part of any project. Followed, of course, by the zen-like state one attains whilst rotary cutting.

Ooo, is rotary cutting the answer to chaos? I should try it more.

I'm so sorry about your trellis! I'm sure that Dad can make it good as new. Just don't let him use duct tape, it'll look like a spaceport (remember the mattress we drove to Utah one year? He even stopped in Nevada for more duct tape--it looked like a square UFO on top of the car).

Ed is visiting cocoa growers, exporters, and brokers in Ghana and Ivory Coast with a group from Mars. He is also seeing the Mars production stuff there. He has been gone a week and returns home on Saturday, but only for a week before he heads out to CA and on and on.
