Well, I've done it!! Here is my maiden entry to the family network. Sitting at Dad's laptop in the San Bruno apartment, I am grateful for Lynn's help over the phone in launching this new adventure.
With nothing to do but read (First Among Sequels), cross stitch, and color-code the footnotes in the Old Testament for seminary, I am going stir-crazy.
Today marks four weeks in the cast. Three to go. I am pretty quick in the wheel chair, but there is no room to use it here. I hop around okay with the crutches, but it's only from the bed to the couch to the table to the desk--pretty limited. Dad is glad I am here, though, so he doesn't have to worry about me and the stairs at home. We go back to the kitties next Thursday, and then I will stay put. With any luck this will be over on the 28th.
I have always believed the start of the school year is the real "New Year." I know this is especially true this month. Grandma Munt is settled into her new home in Texas and very happy to be back close to Karl's little girls. I am glad a difficult year is behind us, and we are looking forward to new adventures.
Stay tuned for updates and memories from the home of the bears and apples.

I like the UCLA colors. And in a few months you'll have to change the grandchildren number to 17. I look forward to reading more from you.
Dang it I thought I'd be the first comment >.<
Good looking page mom! Although, I am somewhat surprised that the woman who couldn't figure out how to view a text message I sent to her phone is blogging...
Ah well.
P.S. Heather and I are going to the UCLA v BYU game tomorrow. Who should we root for?
Your new blog looks great! We look forward to checking in. Glad the leg is doing well. We'll see you when you get back to PA.
Love the blog name. So glad you started one...
I am impressed. Before long you will have pictures, links to who knows how many other places/things, etc. You'll be a down-right blog-addict!
I laughed at the "incredibly unique" part. Clearly aimed at the other 5. :)
Hi Kathy,
I know very little about blogging, but I am impressed with your creation.
Wishing you and Ed and your kids and grandkids the very best.
Can you pop a wheelie? I tried to do this once in a wheelchair and I almost toppled over.
Love,
Britt
Welcome to virtual "keeping up with each other". Also, welcome to a new, exciting part of your life (and even better in a few weeks, you'll be so mobile again).
If Dan is worried about not being unique enough, I'd be happy to teach him how to speak Old English at the end of the semester, when I'm fluent (enough). :)
Hi Doll: So sorry to learn you are on crutches, ?????????????
But very excited to know you are blogging. You are doing much better than I am. I just don't have the time. I did do some more to mine with pictures even but it got lost out in cyber space and when I found it, it was a big disappointment but I published it anyway and you can see a few pictures of the Cruise from last year.
By the way the spelling of my name for the record is Elinor. Full name Mary Elinor Catherine O'Hare.
Most Roman Catholics wind up with three names, the third one was taken by choice at Confirmation Service at the age of 14.
