They're done!!

Here are the quilts!!

I made these three twin bed sized quilts for my hairdresser--an inactive member who lives in Maryland with her three young kids. We have become friends since June, and she asked me to help her with a "forever" gift for her children--the replacement of their baby quilts given to them by the Relief Society in their former Utah ward. Each one took about 15 hours to complete, and I will run them over to the mall this morning. She had wanted to pay me to make them, but that is ridiculous. I will only ask for the cost of the materials.
Stacey had been raised in the church, gone to seminary, married in the Bountiful temple. Her father was a bishop but he had an affair during that time which blew the whole family out of the water. Her mother moved out here, Stacey's husband divorced her because she couldn't get past the betrayal she felt from the church, and she fell into our hands when she came out here to join her mother and started working at the place we always go to get our hair cut. We talk every month about church things, and maybe this project will touch a part of her heart and soften and heal.
Anyway, now I can decorate, bake, and get ready for visiting grandchildren. I feel at ease.
